Our vision is
Bringing to reality what Jesus called the “Kingdom of God”
In the part of East Bristol covered by the Parish of St. Aidan with
St. George, as part of the King’s Way Benefice –
By being the Hands, the Feet, the Eyes, Ears, the Mouths and Hearts of
Christ in this area:
As Hands we do the work that Christ called us to do.
As Feet we go where Christ challenges us to go
As Eyes we see where Christ wishes us to act.
As Ears we listen with sensitivity and generosity to others
and as Mouths we speak where we see injustice, wrong and need, and by being the Heart.
We live and beat to the
Rhythm of Christ.
“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people
light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives
light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that
they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
We are in a very visible location. We are literally the ‘city on the hill’ and so we pray that our community life and ministry which bless many in this city and beyond
Here is a prayer to help us bring our vision to reality…
Lord, Help us to be a community
That will be more courageous than cautious;
that will not merely ‘comfort the afflicted’ but ‘afflict the comfortable’;
that will not only love the world but will also judge the world;
that will not only pursue peace but also demand justice;
that will not remain silent when people are calling for a voice;
that will not pass by on the other side when wounded humanity
is waiting to be healed;
that will not only call us to worship but also send us out to witness;
that will follow Christ even when the way points to the cross.
To this end we offer ourselves in the name of him who loved us
and gave himself for us, Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.
