The parish is situated in a what has been historically a strong non conformist area. We have good ecumenical links with our all neighbouring churches of various denominations.
We are members of the East Bristol churches Together group.
We hold joint services at various times throughout the year, for example, Women’s World day of Prayer, Week of Christian Unity, Easter and Pentecost.
Our major shared service is the out door morning service held on Troopers Hill in St. George. This service commences with a Silent Procession (optional) starting from Summerhill Methodist Church at 11.30am. The procession makes its’ way along the main A431 and side streets, to Troopers Hill Park, a prominent hill in the parish with excellent views across the city. The service starts at 12noon. This particular service has been in existence for a great number of years and is well attended, whatever the weather!
A more recent joint event has been ‘Carols in the Precinct’ which takes place generally on the Monday before Christmas at 7pm in the Kingsway Shopping Precinct and this presents an opportunity for families to do some good old fashioned Carol Singing in the open air. This event is well supported by the local shops.
We run a Messy Church in Air Balloon Primary school, on Wednesday afternoon in term time, with our friends John Wesley Memorial and Summerhill Methodist churches.
